How we handle your health information, and the terms that govern your use of Stethra — including its current beta phase.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Stethra ("Stethra," "we," "us," or "our") provides a personal health intelligence platform that helps you collect, understand, and act on your health information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Stethra, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information — name, email, and profile details, including data from Google Sign-In (name, email, profile photo). We never receive your Google password.

Health information you provide — lab reports and medical documents you upload, manually entered vitals and symptoms, medications, goals, and family member profiles you create.

Information we generate — structured data extracted from your documents, trends and summaries produced by our AI systems, and the questions you ask our health assistant.

Connected sources — wearable or health-platform data, only for integrations you explicitly authorize.

2. How we use your information

We do not use your health data to train third-party AI models, and we never sell your personal or health information.

Stethra is an information and decision-support tool. It does not diagnose disease or replace professional medical advice — insights should be discussed with a qualified clinician.

3. Legal basis for processing

Where required, we rely on your consent, performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting data, disconnecting a source, or closing your account.

4. Storage & security

No system is 100% secure, but we apply safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of health data.

5. Sharing your information

We share information only with service providers who help operate Stethra (hosting, database, AI processing, email), under contractual data-protection obligations; with your explicit direction (e.g., exporting a summary); with family members you designate on a shared plan; where legally required; or in connection with a business transfer, subject to equivalent protections.

6. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may access, correct, export, or delete your data, and withdraw consent for specific processing. Most of this is available directly in Settings → Data & Privacy; for anything else, contact us at support@stethra.com.

8. Additional rights for users in India

Stethra is built primarily for users in India, and we handle personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). As a Data Principal, you additionally have the right to a clear summary of the data we hold and how it's processed; the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated; the right to withdraw consent as easily as you gave it; and the right to file a grievance with us before escalating to the Data Protection Board of India.

Grievance Officer contact: support@stethra.com. We respond within the timeline prescribed under applicable law.

9. Users outside India

Stethra's primary operations and legal basis for processing are governed by Indian law. If you access Stethra from outside India, your information is still handled as described here. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK, or state privacy laws in the US) — where those apply, we'll make reasonable efforts to honor them. Contact support@stethra.com to make a request.

10. Children's privacy

Stethra is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. International transfers

Your information may be processed in India or another country where our infrastructure providers operate; where required, we take steps to ensure such transfers meet applicable legal requirements.

12. Changes to this policy

We'll notify you in the app or by email before any material change takes effect. Continued use after that point means you accept the update.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Stethra. By creating an account or using Stethra, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Beta service — important notice

Stethra is currently offered as a beta product. By using it, you acknowledge that:

— The service is under active development and may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features.

— Features, data structures, and pricing may change or be removed at any time without notice.

— The service may be interrupted, suspended, or discontinued at any time without liability.

— Data loss or unavailability is a real possibility during beta; keep your own copies of original documents.

No warranty or guarantee of any kind is made regarding the beta service's availability, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose. This is in addition to, and does not limit, Sections 9–10 below, which apply at all times — including after any general-availability launch.

2. Not medical advice

Stethra is an information and decision-support tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical questions, and never disregard professional advice because of something you saw in Stethra.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not rely on Stethra in an emergency.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 to create an account. If you manage a family member's data, you confirm you're authorized to do so.

4. Your account

You're responsible for your login credentials and all activity under your account, and for keeping your information accurate.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the health information you upload. You grant Stethra a limited license to store, process, and analyze it solely to provide and improve the service. You confirm you have the right to upload it.

6. Acceptable use

7. Third-party services

Stethra relies on infrastructure such as Google Sign-In, cloud database and backend services, and AI processing providers. We're not responsible for their availability or performance.

8. Intellectual property

Stethra's software, design, branding, and underlying methodology belong to Stethra and its licensors.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STETHRA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND — EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY — INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY DATA EXTRACTION, TREND ANALYSIS, OR AI-GENERATED OUTPUT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: STETHRA, ITS FOUNDERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, HEALTH OUTCOMES, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF STETHRA — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) WHAT YOU PAID STETHRA IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS, OR (B) INR 1,000.

NO INDIVIDUAL FOUNDER, DIRECTOR, OFFICER, OR EMPLOYEE IS PERSONALLY LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — LIABILITY, IF ANY, IS LIMITED TO THE CORPORATE ENTITY OPERATING STETHRA.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF LEGAL THEORY — CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, OR OTHERWISE — AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; where that's true, these apply only to the extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Stethra, its founders, officers, and employees against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your reliance on Stethra without independent medical consultation.

12. Termination

You can delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without cause, including discontinuing the service during or after beta. Sections 8–11 survive termination.

13. Changes to the service and these terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Stethra at any time, especially during beta. Material changes to these Terms will be notified via the app or email.

14. Governing law and disputes

Stethra is built primarily for users in India. These Terms are governed by the laws of Karnataka, India, regardless of where you access the service from, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

If you access Stethra from outside India, you consent to your information being processed in India and agree that Indian law governs your use of the service, in addition to any mandatory local consumer-protection rights that may apply to you and cannot be waived by contract.

15. Severability & entire agreement

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy make up the entire agreement between you and Stethra.
